The «Buran-8 Explosion Proof Mine» has the marking РВ ЕхiаI Х/1ЕхiаIIС 110 ºС Х except С2Н2, in accordance with GOST R 51330.0 and belongs to the group of mine explosion-proof electrical equipment.
This is the first powder module in Russia, which can be used on any explosive objects with practically no restrictions, including — in mines and mines, dangerous for gas (methane) and coal dust.
Restrictions on the use for this module are acetylene (С2Н2), as indicated in the labeling, and carbon disulfide, since carbon disulfide belongs to group T6 of the category IIC mixture.
There are four modifications of the «Buran-8 Explosion Proof Mine» module:
- «Buran-8U Explosion Proof Mine» — impulse dry powder module, universal, ceiling mount for rooms with a ceiling height of 2,5 to 6,5 m.
- «Buran-8W Explosion Proof Mine» — impulse dry powder module, wall mount with installation height from 2 m to 3 m, providing a powder cloud in the horizontal direction for a distance of up to 8 m. For this module, the height of the ceiling of the room is no longer taken into account.
- «Buran-8ST Explosion Proof Mine» — short-term action dry powder module, ceiling mount with installation height from 1,5 m to 2,5 m. The fire extinguishing powder is supplied through a guide pipe with sprayers to protect different compartments, cable ducts or the like.
- «Buran-8STW Explosion Proof Mine» — short-term action dry powder module, wall mounting with installation height from 1,5 m to 2,5 m. The fire extinguishing powder is supplied through a guide pipe with sprayers to protect different compartments, cable ducts or the like.
Modules of powder fire extinguishing «Buran» were previously widely used in the mining industry in fire extinguishing systems of various fire hazardous areas — conveyors, etc.
The appearance of the new «Buran» significantly expands the scope of powder fire extinguishing and allows successfully solving the issues of fire protection of explosive objects for various purposes.
