The automatic system for detecting and extinguishing fires «IGLA-TPS» RA2 was developed for automatic detection and suppression of fires on traction rolling stock.
The peculiarity of this system is its flexibility in the configuration and the ability to work with various types of sensors and extinguishing means with an electric start, which makes it possible to apply it to single, double and multi-section vehicles using a powder, aerosol or combined fire extinguishing method. It is possible to duplicate communication lines to increase the survivability of the system and to introduce an additional second stage of extinguishing. The system is successfully used on rail buses RA-2.
On each car are allocated protection zones. In the zones, fire alarm sensors and extinguishing agents are installed. Sensors and extinguishing means via communication lines are connected to the address local control unit (LBK), which monitors the fire-hazardous situation and the state of equipment in the zone. If the protection zone is controlled by several LBK units, then they are combined into one zone.
LBK units are connected by wire communication lines to the intermediate control and control unit (BKU), which in turn is connected to a dedicated train line to exchange information about the state of the system between the cars of the train. Block BKU in the event of a fire situation produces a signal to turn off the equipment on the car.
In the driver’s cab, the head cars of the train consist of control and display units (BKI). Block BUI is designed for issuing address information messages about the status of the system on the composition, management of the system and storage of the archive of events in the system.
The system is powered by the on-board network of the car with a voltage of 24 V.
