Since 2005 railway track machines are equipped with a fire protection kit for a special rolling stock (KPPZ SPS), which consists of two independent systems: a detection system and a fire-extinguishing system.
The detection system is based on automatic fire detection and extinguishing system (AFDES) «Igla-M».
The fire extinguishing system is formed in accordance with the developed project for a specific model of the railway track machine using the powder fire extinguishing modules «Buran».
